To volunteer is to be a part of a team working together towards a common goal. It increases social interactions and it connects strangers in ways that can be life changing. Offering services to others enriches one's life, gives individuals a broader purpose, and is motivating. It inspires people to step outside of their comfort zone and to build new skills-two features that aid in developing one's self-esteem and confidence.
To volunteer is to build character, inspire passion, and to strengthen one's determination. It is informative in that it helps people identify and connect with their community and/or their community's insufficiencies. Humility is one of life’s best teachers. Giving back to the community and helping others improves the lives of everyone. It teaches selflessness, team building, and listening skills and is why I volunteer regularly.

Established in 1878, Primary is an organization for youth age three to eleven years old. It is designed to support the social and emotional development of children by teaching values, healthy choices, and ways to serve their community.

This position functions under the direction of my local church leader to ensure that fellow leaders can communicate with each other and with the congregation. As the communication specialist I keep members informed about the church's schedule, upcoming events, resources, study materials, and/or any pending civil notices. This became especially important during the Covid-19 lockdown, as it kept members informed about and connected to a community of caring and familiar people.
Contributions:
-Confidentially store and update all member's email information.
-Communicate with church leaders weekly.
-Research, create, organize, and distribute a weekly newsletter of which includes layouts, graphics, videos, links, etc. for 200 people.
-Answer questions related to the schedule and/or materials.
-Help members with technological issues pertaining to the weekly email/newsletter.

Under the direction of a local church I assist to ensure those in need have food, basic toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Â Twice a month the delivery of such items are made available. A team of people, my daughter, and myself all together organize and distribute said items to registered families and individuals.
Contributions:
-Communicate with cohort volunteers.
-Take inventory.
-Read list and retrieve items for said list from individual stations.
-Match orders to recipients and deliver said orders to vehicles.
-Meet with recipients, when directed, to maintain connection and services.

Sister Eubank Encourages Women to Become Global Citizens
Established in 1842, Relief Society has over 7 million members in over 162 countries and territories. It is an organization designed to help women increase self-reliance, enlarge talents, expand knowledge, strengthen families, and volunteer in communities.
Contributions:
-Teach/lead discussions for a class of no less than 25 people (age 18 and above).
-Participate in teacher council meetings.
-Care for people/families in need.
-Plan meetings, activities, community service, and other interactions to help women, families, and the community.

Activity Days is an organization for young girls age eight to eleven years old. It includes fun and entertaining lessons for young ladies to build values, strengthen families, foster unity, and to grow socially and emotionally. Though the class size varied the average attendance each week was about fifteen children.
Contributions:
-Created, planned and taught meaningful activities such as cooking, sewing, the basic mechanics of a car engine, and how to change a tire.
-Organized and managed volunteer activities such as food drives and visiting the elderly.
-Cared for children/families in need.
-Participated in teacher council meetings.

Muttville, located in San Francisco, California, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way people think about and treat senior dogs age seven years and older. Muttville is a no kill rescue shelter and is cage-free. They have a foster care program, an on-site veterinary suite, and a hospice program. They have rescued almost 10,000 dogs and counting.
Contributions:
-Fostered/cared for high needs dogs (blind/deaf/elderly).
-Took foster dogs to local veterinarian when needed.
-Drove dogs to adoption events.
-Network/discuss Muttville organization with the public.
