To lead is to bring out the best in others. It is building the skills of individuals and/or teams. A leaders must influence and inspire in ways that support and honor individuality while achieving goals along the way.
Leadership is the accomplishment of a plan through the direction of appointees—an achievement made stronger by their connection to their team. They must have a deep understanding of their goals, a strong knowledge of their organization's pursuit, and the ability to see the bigger picture.
To lead effectively is to think analytically—having industry knowledge, vision, excellent communication skills, and operational experience. Conversely, leaders not only need to understand a project, but also can analyze appeal, potential, strength, and wisdom in others, in oneself, and in the project to optimize results.
People respond to rewards but more effectively they thrive when ambition, purpose, connection, trust, recognition, and appreciation is applied. It is important people are given the opportunity to learn and to grow. Humans are complex, therefore there is never a one size fits all approach. It is important that leaders recognize this.
By responding to individuality, and to patterns, leaders create genuine and intrinsic interest in work culture. It is important leaders know each person and how to best serve them and the organization through them. Leaders do this by listening and honoring individuals and by building meaningful relationships. Leaders model responsible behavior and make certain to recognize excellence and personal development.
